Are there binoculars in bf3
That would bring more depth to Recon as they looked at the target distance in meters and raised the scope to the appropriate notch on their crosshairs. Instead, recent forum chatter seems to state that the radio beacon will call in a mortar strike. Lastly, a tripod is said to be another add-on for snipers to provide more stability and precision than the aforementioned bipod. While I agree that variety is the spice of life, I do not believe this would be too meaningful of an addition.
Simply putting in a bipod is a smart move. The class should instead be given a more meaningful gadget instead of the 2. With the next beta well on its way, it seems we will be hearing more about this class and, hopefully, get to try sniping out ourselves in the coming month.
Spotted enemies will not be seen on friendly players' HUD if the player can't actually see the enemy. A red star appears near the marker for Squad Leaders, that when spotted, the rest of the squad gets a spot as well. Each vehicle type has its own spotting icon. Gadgets such as mortar tubes, explosives, and drones also have their own icons. Spotted gadgets may be visible up to 30 seconds. Firing un-suppressed weapons will cause the shooting player to be briefly spotted.
Spotters now need to keep line-of-sight to their target. If the target moves behind concealment such as foliage or smoke, the spot can be removed. Spots on vehicles persist for much longer, even through concealment. Vehicle users can unlock specializations that hinder spotting such as Stealth, making it harder to spot unless firing.
Since Battlefield 4 , Smoke Grenades can partially or completely block spotting. Returning from for PC players is the commo rose to issue orders and request medkits, ammo, and repair from appropriate teammates.
Holding down the spotting key and moving the mouse allows voice prompts to be issued. Added is a context-sensitive "quick command" using just the spotting key—if your character is injured, they can "spot" an allied medic carrying a medkit to give healing. The character will speak a voice prompt, and symbols will also appear representing players who can provide assistance and the requesting player.
However, this can also alert nearby enemies of your presence. This also applies when 'spotting' a friendly Support for Ammo, an Engineer to fix your damaged vehicle or even asking a vehicle driver to stop for you to get in, if there's empty slots available. Players with certain specializations or gadgets can use laser designation for other players with guided weaponry.
A large diamond-and-dot icon indicates a lock; if the icon is surrounded with a square, a teammate is able to make use of the lock. In Battlefield 4 , an animation was added that shows the player's soldier pointing toward targets, with Battlefield Hardline and Battlefield 1 continuing this trend. Compass headings are added to voice prompts, significantly improving awareness. While spotting mechanics in Battlefield 1 remain largely the same to previous entries, the Trench Periscope and the Sniper Decoy allow a more advanced form of spotting that draws an outline on the spotted target which persists even through cover.
The mechanic first saw testing in the Community Test Environment and is added to game proper in the Spring update. The mechanic allows a Medic using the Medical Syringe to inform a dead player of their intent to revive them by spotting their dead icon. If not you could do the recon thing and wait till youre sure nobody is watching then take out the rifle.
I like the idea of the glint but the way it looked in the video reminded me of a flashlight. Log In Sign Up. Keep me logged in on this device Forgot your username or password? Don't have an account? Boards Battlefield 3 Do the binoculars have glint as well? User Info: Smoothus. For example, if you were to hold down spot with the rangefinder on a location and there was a friendly mobile artillery within range, he would suddenly see a little target with range numbers floating in the sky and if he were to aim the middle of his sight at it and fire the shots would land dead in the area being spotted.
Or if there were a friendly tank within range they would get a target that shows them where to aim to compensate for drop. Heck, if there are friendly infantry nearby they could get markers for where to lob their grenades or shoot RPGs! And while sniper support would make the most sense realistically, I don't think it would be all that awesome in practice.
Because suddenly those idiots who can't aim and spend the entire match sniping anyway would be able to hit you without getting better at the game, so long as somebody were spotting with a rangefinder.
Is there something about the way I type that makes it sound angry? Maybe it's just something about the way you read. User Info: ev11u11on. Recon already have a rangefinder. That is range to target in meters up to M.
However, I agree that a more discreet way of target locating is needed. I also think, that the rangefinder I just mentioned needs to be expanded to roughly M. More topics from this board How do I get past BF-3 Comrades? Main Quest 2 Answers Can't get through window on train, keep falling off?
